Understanding of Work in the Polish Constitution - an Attempt at Reconstructing the Concept

Summary/Abstract: W artykule podjęta zostanie próba rekonstrukcji pojęcia pracy w kontekście polskiego systemu prawnego. Ponadto przedstawiona będzie krytyka zbyt wąskiego rozumienia pracy powiązana z propozycją konsekwentnego zastosowania się do naczelnych zasad Konstytucji RP (zasady dobra wspólnego oraz zasady godności człowieka), które prowadzi do głębszego rozumienia pracy także na gruncie prawa. Wydaje się, że jedynie w taki sposób można przedstawiać pojęcie pracy jako zagadnienie istotne w funkcjonowaniu państwa. The paper aims at reconstructing the concept of work in the context of the Polish legal system. Moreover, the author presents the criticism of too narrow understanding of work associated with the proposal of consistent compliance with the guiding principles of the Polish Constitution (the principle of the common good and the principle of human dignity), which leads to a deeper understanding of work as a matter of law. It seems that it is the only possible way to introduce the concept of work as an important issue in the functioning of the state.
