Summary/Abstract: The paper explains the Eurosystem’s interest in, and work towards the establishment of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). It presents SEPA Vision, as a priority within the euro-area. The objectives of the SEPA are stressed, with today’s activities of the European key bodies and banking industry, that initiated the SEPA Programme. 10 Proposals for realisation of this pretentious project are introduced too. Single Euro Payments Area will deliver many benefits, first of all for consumers and businesses and is a great challenge for the banking sector.
