Priest – a Minister of God’s Mercy among children and young people

Summary/Abstract: The ongoing Year of Mercy is the occasion to look at a priest performing religious functions among children and young people through the prism of his ministry in a confessional. Starting with the significance of the sacrament of penance as a source of personal priest’s development; the author of the article describes his mission as a confessor, as well as lists a priest’s duties. The author pays attention to the sacrament of penance as the way leading to the new evangelism in the face of the crisis in living this sacrament. The article contains the answer to the following question: what kind of confessor are people currently looking for’; it also shows the triple mission of a person called to fulfill religious tasks: priest – confessor – religious teacher.
