Summary/Abstract: This article considers the relation of the State, i.e. the Communist Party toward the satirical magazine Jež in the postwar period. We will try to determine the level of State monitoring of press during the period, underscoring the Party control of the caricature. In relation to this, the investigation of conceivable pressures on editorial board and journalists of the magazine, аs well as the obstruction of imaginativeness and restriction of creative freedom of the authors of caricature is of particular interest. We have used the proceedings of the Party meetings, reports and commentaries of agitprops, written testimonies of editors and oral statements of the associates of Jež as the source material for this research.
