German loanwords in Silesian dialekts

Summary/Abstract: The paper addresses the question of the lack of a synthetic study of German loanwords in Silesian dialects. The author claims that there are some impediments (mostly concerning data collecting and methodology) that researchers interested in this serious linguistic, cultural and ideological topic may face. The discussed issues related to the adaptation of the loanwords, chronology and geography are illustrated with numerous examples and analyses.
