Perspectives of Democratization of Political Parties

Summary/Abstract: Objective of this text is to underline possible directions for democratization of political parties in Serbia and for overcoming the reign of the parties as a main precondition for increase of democratic capacity and development of society. In the analysis author of the text used a theoretically well- grounded and proven scientific method. The author underlined that in Serbia, under cover of the party pluralism, instead of democracy there has been even greater autocracy of political system going on and that a real criteria of democratic capacity of the political parties is not only declarative talk but also practical action. The author concluded that for clarification of a real relation of the existing parties toward democracy there is needed a particular indicative relation toward property in addition to a real understanding of the meaning of democracy and the understanding of relationships within the parties; and also that for democratization of society and abolishment of the political monopoly only political parties which are organized themselves on democratic principles may successfully fight for.
