Summary/Abstract: One of the regularities of the contemporary period of the development of society (from the beginning of 20. century) is constant growth of number of females. For a long time now they represent half of the population. In the field of rights (in subjective and objective meaning of the term) women have achieved generally equal status with men. They have waited almost two centuries for the idea of equality to really become a „human right”. However, formal and real rights are in dissonance. Social forms of inequalities between men and women are the consequence of such dominating mentality of society and such understanding of the role of women. Above all, they are the product of society in which relations of inequality, selfishness and inhumanity are lively sustained. Even to this day women are reduced to objects, and that can be easily concluded even with a glimpse on the print media in Serbia. They are overwhelmed by stereotypes, misogyny and in short every day we meet newspaper texts that treat women in derogatory and degrading manner.
