Summary/Abstract: In this article, author performs critical interpretation of Lijphart’s theoretical framework and analysis of his models of non-majoritarian democracy - consociational, consensual and power-sharing democracy. While models of consociational and power-sharing democracy represent an effort of Dutch scholar to resolve prejudice that democracy is impossible in a deeply divided societies, the model of consensus democracy is proposed as the best solution to all countries, whether plural or homogenous.
