Impact of Economic Growth on Income Poverty in the South Great Plain Region

Summary/Abstract: The study aims to examine the impact of economic growth on income poverty. Poverty is analysed not only in context with the economic performance of the respective regional unit but also with that of the neighbouring regional units, taking into consideration the role of space and neighbourhood in regional growth and close-up. The analysis targets to disclose how economic performance of recent years influenced the share of population living under poverty threshold, the deepness of poverty and the disparity of incomes.
