Summary/Abstract: Great Britain’s exit from the European Union, ”Brexit” or ”British exit”, is one of the most spectacular and important processes which concern both Europe and the rest of the world. During the debate on the referendum, a series of arguments, regarding Great Britain’s exit from the European Union, were highlighted. These arguments can be grouped in three main categories: economic, political and regarding security. Most originate in British domestic realities, but they have also been boosted by the decision-making processes of the EU institutions. Interestingly, from my point of view, this highlights the opportunities generated by Brexit, from the perspective of the remaining member states of the EU, as is the case with Romania. These opportunities are of political, economic and social nature. In the current process of reconfiguring the European project, Romania has the opportunity and historical chance to assume a more important role and a more visible position on the European political scene.
