Summary/Abstract: The present paper considers some ideas for propаedeutics of the concept of function in primary school. Arithmetic problems are discussed, “upgraded” with additional questions and exemplary solutions are proposed. The aim is to create provoking possibilities for students to search and formulate relationships among variables, thus realizing generalizing reasoning on the base of the primary school curriculum.
