Chosen features of online linguistic advice and language awareness of its users

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, questions directed at linguistic advisory websites are a valuable material for linguists as they allow for qualitative analyses of Polish (and its development trends),description of language awareness of contemporary Poles and identifying the character of such websites and the role they play (especially within the context of a discrepancy between language codification and usus). In the light of questions addressed to LinguisticAdvisory Department at Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, the author presents a couple of issues that are connected with the contemporary discourse of language and culture. The article touches upon a social and pragmatic function of linguistic advisory websites (together with attitude profiles of users who apply this meta lingual dialogue)and characteristics of online advice as a genre inter-alia. Furthermore, the article presents language problems that most often become subject to normative settling at the Linguistic Advisory Department of Jan Długosz University
