Summary/Abstract: It may be noted that legal and professional preconditions for the establishment of the archive network and the reconstruction of the archival service throughout the territory have been created in the Republic of Srpska, but that economic and other problems slow down and disable the complete and comprehensive protection of archival material. This can lead to unwanted consequences of the decay and alienation of some significant archival funds. In addition to the inadequate loss for the state and its interests, for science and history, it can also prevent citizens from exercising some legal and constitutional rights. Archival workers conscientiously and professionally, within the limits of their capabilities, try to minimize the negative consequences.
