Francois Hollande. New architect of French foreign policy

Summary/Abstract: Throughout the presidential campaign, France’s foreign policy and international affairs (other than the eurozone crisis) were given rather scant attention. Still, the view that have been aired allow a more or less accurate description of the changes that can be expected in this field. Six major topics are on the new president’s agenda: the fiscal pact, keeping Greece in the eurozone, NATO troops’ withdrawal; from Afghanistan, Iran’s nuclear ambitions, developments in Syria, and NATO’s missile defense shield in Europe.
