Summary/Abstract: The paper presents results of a study, examining teachers’ attitudes, competencies and practices in the field of arts education through which works in practice the art education in the Bulgarian school and the society and who are a key resource to transform its learning model. The survey shows how the teacher sees the priorities, problems and prospects in the development of arts education. On this basis are analyzed the arts education status and are outlined strategies and measures for optimization.
