Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to bring together all the information concerning the Post Palace building, from both the historical and architectural point of wiev. Together with this, other sources are investigated: medals, postage stamps, decorations and brevets. Despite the fact that the Post Palace is one of the most representative buildings of Bucharest at the begininig of the 20th century, few things have been written about it so far. It has a long history, starting with the place where it stands, on the ruins of the old Constantin-Vodă Inn. The Post Palace was built between of 1894-1899 in the Eclectic style, in the context of Bucharest development into a modern city. During its history the palace had two main functions - that of the Post Palace and that of the History Museum from 1972 and the initial building knew several transformations due to the powerfull earthquakes and to its change of function. Nowadays the building is under restoration works which should bring it to its place as one of the most representative buildings of Bucharest.
