Short Description
“Muzeul Naţional” is the review edited by the National History Museum of Romania. Its publication began in 1974, two years after the Museum was opened, with the purpose of gathering the most important studies written by museographers and researchers of the time. The tradition continued, although with some interruptions, during the ‘80s and the ‘90s. Starting with 1997, the review has been published annually and has now reached no. 29/2017, which is under work. Historians, researchers, museographers, restorers and teachers have been contributing year after year studies, documents, photographs, some concerning items discovered in the storage rooms of the National History Museum of Romania, purchased or donated. In the pages of the review can be found studies signed by experienced researchers, but also by young debutant museographers who have meanwhile become renown names of contemporary history. The review is individualized by the fact that it also contains illustrations which accompany the studies, articles and documents. The languages used are Romanian, English, French and German. Last year we also launched a website of the review in order to digitalise the 28 numbers already published and to become accessible to the large public.
