Summary/Abstract: Capestang, a small city of Languedoc, carries the memory of a brilliant Middle-Age past as one of the residences belonging to the Archbishop of Narbonne. A painted ceiling from the XVth century shows an extremely well preserved collection of images representing the daily life in the medieval south of France. Fernand Pigot, appointed in 1926 as Honorary Consul of Rumania in Béziers, was a brilliant scholar, journalist and writer from Capestang, member of the prestigious Société Archéologique, Scientifique et Littéraire.
