FOOD RESOURCES – CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE ELEMENT

Summary/Abstract: In the late years, among the explicit political-military threats against international security were also emphasized another threats provoked by intensive consumption of natural resources in some parts of the world and their lack of others or natural and pantropical risks against those. Under these circumstances, specialists, politicians and regarded public started to quote “catastrophic” classical visions attracting attention over global anarchy caused by some resources exhaustion or planet’s overpopulation and also the ones anticipating “growth limits”. Fear feelings were fed by the extraordinary expansion of production, credit, and consumption from Occident and fulminant ascension of emergent economies from “Asian tigers” to BRICS countries.The recent economic-financial crisis temperated these excessive trends and obliged the international community to fulfill the importance of food resources and to intensify preoccupation for critical infrastructures protection from the agro-food field (ICA). The different resources issue is very hard and more and more discussed in the last period looking for solutions not only to provide energetic security but also food and water resources security.
