Summary/Abstract: In the last two decades, we have witnessed an increase in the attention given to the new types of threats and risks to national security, from environmental issues to terrorism and economic instability. Traditional definitions of national and international security are based on a limited understanding of the conflict and have proven inadequate to describe the entire set of risk which the international community is currently facing.
