Summary/Abstract: This investigation is proposed to moot a question rather debated by historians about the causes for the involution of some urban settlement from Wallachia. With the help of documentary informations is presented a short historical of those urban settlement which present this process of involution. We have the possibility to make approximately a typology for each way of this process. For the first category we have those market towns which are disppeared and the toponim is lost. For the second category we have those towns wich are become villages. For the third category we have towns which were deserted by inhabitants. All these instances of regress of urban development reflect the changes from political, economical, and social life of medieval state, Wallachia.
