Summary/Abstract: The relational view in strategic management has developed beyond the phenomenon recognition to explain advantage of firms through their relationships. Dyads and networks may contribute to strategic objectives achievement, and have become instrumental to strategies. This paper identifies a distinctive feature of relational strategies i.e. rent seeking beyond organizational boundaries. Extant literature theoretical frameworks indicate three strategic logics: structural, resource based and value-creation oriented. Furthermore, strategist’s perception as an intervening variable between network context and network strategizing has been examined. We propose that network awareness is a condition for developing network pictures, which are associated to network strategies.
