Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the idea of environmental democracy in the context of implementing Nuclear Power Plant Program (NPPs) in Poland. Studies of peoples’ perceptions of technological risk is crucial in respect to the NPPs impacts’ assessment that is why the quantitative analysis of existing data (public opinion polls from 2009-2016) are presented. The results show the changes in public opinions on nuclear energy, the characteristics of proponents and opponents and the perception of security, health, information in terms of nuclear energy. We argue that the education and information (consultation programs) are the crucial elements of participative democracy and they have an important value of making people more aware and more involved in the public sphere.
