Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issues of ecological protection of the Baltic Sea. It presents the state of pollutions resulting from a conscious or unconscious introduction of substances or energy, which may be harmful for fauna and flora, into the natural environment. The material showed the realization of selected ecological projects for the quality of water purity in the Baltic Sea, as well as it indicated steps, which are taken by the Polish authorities for the protection of the natural environment of the Baltic Sea. The complexity of the analyzed subject was illustrated by empirical data derived from the diagnostic survey. The above-mentioned data concern the knowledge and awareness of initiatives performed by the Polish States in terms of the ecological protection of the Baltic Sea.
