Cost optimization in purchasing groups

Summary/Abstract: Enterprises constantly seek to reduce the cost of doing business, because it allows them to build a better competitive position on the market. To maximize the effects of the optimization of costs in purchasing companies can take advantage of purchasing groups. Purchasing groups allow for economies of scale in negotiating purchase prices and terms of delivery. The article presents the motives of participation of undertakings in purchasing groups and shows selected purchasing groups operating in the south-eastern part of Poland.
