Summary/Abstract: An ancient supplication of 1835, accompanied by a genealogical tree, put us on the trail of an old quarrel over the possession of land and property, the protagonists of which were the heirs of the younger branch of the Racovit za, Hetman (army commander) Doumitraschko Racovitza, brother of the Reigning Prince of Moldavia and Wallachia, Michel Racovitza. At the end of a very agitated life (as well as the events of his time) he ended his days after being held in prison as a result of his shenanigans against Prince Regnant Gregory II Ghika. The Prince obliged him to pay a large sum of money, as "expenses of detention", as well as his wife Ilynka, née Cantacu zene (daughter of the great Halleman Vichy Michel Cantacuzène) was obliged to sell their fortune to pay the debt. After the death of her husband, Ilynka begged the Prince to forget his faults. As she had sold the estate of her dowry to pay for what was left of her husband's debt, she turned to the Prince for her inheritance to be restored, which Prince Ghika accepted.
