Summary/Abstract: During his childhood, the future King Charles II - at the time, only prince -appears on some medals dating from the period 1899-1909. The oldest portraitin the medal of Prince Charles dates from 1899, when, at the age of six, it had beenseriously ill. The medal struck to commemorate his cure was realized byTheodor Radivon. Like later portraits, present on the martizoare or onthe medals given as school prices and created by Radivon orCamiol, or by obscure firms, this one does not excel by its artistic realization ortechnical. However, in the series of numismatic representations dating back toThe childhood of Charles II detaches the group portrait of the children of the princes heirsRomania, Ferdinand and Marie, present on the medal struck on the occasion of theBaptism of the Princess Ileana, creation of Art Nouveau style of the houses Radivon andCarniol with no doubt the collaboration of a Viennese artist
