The historical center of Bucharest between the cultural heritage and market value

Summary/Abstract: The main aim of this study is to develop a preservation strategy regarding the architectural heritage from Bucharest' s historical centre. This aim is close related with the bad preservation estate of most buildings from the study area, estate which refers to the stability structure, the decoration and the materials used for the facades, the inner courtyards and the life support networks. Considering that the cultural resources are limited and all destructions are irreversible, it is necessary to develop such preservation strategy to continue the architectural heritage life through the ages. The method used to recognize both cultural and usage values was the multi -criteria analysis which measures a heritage abject or assembly in order to diminish a subjective interpretation. For each value type several criteria were establish. In the end were realised maps showing the possible interventions for a protected area and proposals for the preservations of the urban tissue integrity and the living standards quality improvement
