Aspects regarding the participation of the Romanian army in the battles for the liberation of Bessarabia and Northern Bucovina 22 June-26 July 1941

Summary/Abstract: The military actions of the Romanian army aiming at the liberation of the Romanian territories abused by the Soviet Union during the summer of 1940 lasted 33 days. In the countryside for the liberation of Bessarabia and Northern Bucovina 473,103 soldiers participated. The losses were 24,396 people. It can be appreciated that during the struggles which took place between 22 June and 26 July 1941 there was ample evidence of heroism and courage but also of suffering losses. It is a glorious page of national history for which we must lean our foreheads
