Summary/Abstract: In the synthetic work Istoria Bucureştilor, published in 1967, I stated that the city of Bucharest is older than the first documentary mention (20 Septembrie 1459); It was a "city" (fortress) during the 14th century and a town before 1300. The main argument on which this assertion is based is of an economic nature: the need for the multitude of peasants in the region, Ilfov to have a market, a center where they can buy salt, indispensable to human life, the sickles, the faulxes, the axes and the serpes necessary for the agricultural, pastoral and forest life
