Organizational activity of Polish minority in Latvia (former Polish Livonia)

Summary/Abstract: Polish Livonia is the most culturally diverse region in Latvia. Many organizations which work here, they try to uphold the traditions of national minorities. In the article discusses the organizational activities of the Polish minority in Latgale region. The study also shows the educational activities of Poles in the Republic of Latvia. In the research used a sociological method of in-depth interviews with the leaders of Polish organizations. The purpose of the interviews was to know the opinion of the most active and the most competent group of activists.
