Summary/Abstract: The article treats the issue of biodeterioration in museums, showing which are the most damaging factors (fungi and insects), how these agents can harm museum objects, especially those made of organic materials, and what measures should be taken in order to prevent the appearance and spread of such factors. The author emphasizes the importance of creating and maintaining a microclimate that is at the same time appropriate for museum objects and lethal to biological agents
