Education as the shape form of the subject of politics

Summary/Abstract: Drawing upon my critical reflection on Socrates’ thesis on the political function of education, I undertake to explain how the phenomenon of the political, with its conceptual frameworks given by H. Arendt, can be involved in the contemporary discussion upon cultivating a collective subject of education. The first section of the paper develops the concept of “the political” with its implications for understanding who is the subject of the political. The second sections presents some considerations on educational aspects and challenges for cultivating the subject of the political.
