Application of poststratification method in tendency surveys

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the problem of methodology of tendency surveys, emphasizing mathematical formalism of constructing balance statistics, referring to finite population estimation process using poststratification method. Empirical part of the paper is based on business tendency surveys conducted by the Research Institute for Economic Development (RIED) of the Warsaw School of Economics. Information on revenues from total activity of industrial enterprises has been used to weighting procedure in RIED data. Variable under study is the financial standing of manufacturing firms.
