Summary/Abstract: Solution – Focused Approach (SFA) is a method of work with client that lies in searching for solutions to problematic situations, in principle regardless of a nature of the problem itself, without analysis of causes, nature and the base of problem. The essence of the Solution – Focused Approach is the development of client’s motivation and process of change through reinforcing his successful actions which lead to expected results. Over 30 years of development of SFA contributed to popularization of the method in many places in the world, from the United States and Canada, through the United Kingdom, Scandinavian countries, Holland and Australia to Poland. In Europe the movement is propagated by European Brief Therapy Association, which annually organizes conferences , finances research projects, etc.
