Summary/Abstract: As result of the pressure put by globalisation and Information Age on allinformational processses, various sugestions to adapt the intelligence cycle range fromslightly amending the model to radical change. The author supports an adaptation of thecycle, and gets inspiration from the communication theory, where the receiver of thecommunication is, of course, part of this process. The decision taken by the beneficiaryand the subsequent actions take place in the risk management system, abobe theintelligence system. So, intelligence operates as an open system, and Disseminationseems to be the weakest link of the cycle. Complexity theory issues and the Clausewitzianfriction are also considered. The author proposes Utilisation as a main link of the cycle,instead of Dissemination and discusses the consequences, variations of the model, andthe implications in intelligence management
