Summary/Abstract: In December 1944 the International Civil Aviation Conference took place in Chicago, USA. Representatives of 50 states met to discuss new approaches toward the challenges of civil aviation in the post-war era. This article aims to present a historical note of the event, different interests and attitudes of the participants involved in the discussion, as well as the outcomes of the conference including the establishment of the International Civil Aviation Organization.
