Pictures of the join of cultures in contemporary worldwide literature as well as Polish literature

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the join of cultures in contemporary Polish and worldwide literature. The theme is based on the analysis of the medley of cultures on emigration (problems of postcommunist countries) or on the borderline (Silesia as a melting pot of nationalities). The article tries to make a literary interpretation of the phenomenon. The theoretical part presents the issue of integration in view of S.P. Huntington and different cultural circles. The analytic part concerns the multicultural phenomenon in Z. Smith’s and K. Desai’s novels and the borderline of Silesia in the writing of H. Bienek and K. Kutz.
