Multicultural education in Ukraine: theoretical and practical concepts

Summary/Abstract: Despite many positive aspects, globalization challenges the system of education. For example, how to prepare young people for the life in a multicultural society and how to form readiness to cooperate in the world context and what’s more important how to save one’s ethno-cultural and socio-economic achievements in this process? In this context, the requirement of time for all levels of education in Ukraine is the implementation of a multicultural approach into educational process. In this paper the authors made an attempt to analyze the theoretical and practical concepts of the problem of multicultural education in Ukraine. The meaning of the basic definitions of the research has been carried out. The comparative analysis of Ukrainian and Polish terms on multicultural education has been considered. The experience of the implementation of multicultural education into Ukrainian secondary and higher education has been presented.
