Summary/Abstract: The article is divided in two parts. The first part is about relation between literature and reality. I try to show that there is a tendency in philosophy and literary theory to separate literature from reality. I argue (making a reference to thinkers like Bruno Latour) that it is a mistake and we should treat literature as an integral part of our everyday life. In the second part of my text I use the problem of interpretation to present the consequences of this thesis. I claim that if we abandon an above-mentioned dualistic point of view (reality – literature), we will also have to abandon a conviction that there is one proper way to interpret a literary text.
