Summary/Abstract: Some notes on the margin of the conference "Fugue of Ideas: Passion, Knowledge and Memory in Aby Warburg’s Theory of the Image" as well as the exhibition "Atlas. How to carry the world on one’s back?” In the context of the exhibition and conference held in Muse di Reina Sofia i Madrid, the author analyses the possible answers to the following questions: in what way the configurations of images which very of interest for the author of the Atlas Mnemosyne could relate to contemporaneity and the dynamic change, most often of traumatic character, which takes place in contemporary societies; what is the nature of today's heritage of Aby Warburg and what role do the madness and war play in the production of knowledge through images, in the dynamics of memory and collective impressions as well as what is the shape of the collective which is supposed to communicate through the common techniques and tactics of image-making.
