Summary/Abstract: The Solvency II Directive contains a provision which obliges the European Commission to put forward amendments to the Insurance Mediation Directive. According to CEIOPS, BIPAR and CEA amendments to the current IMD Directive shall above all concern the following issues: the quality of information given to customers, rules of conducting operations (conflict of interests and transparency) and lack of certainty as far as legal matters are concerned due to vague definitions contained in the Directive.
