Summary/Abstract: Incurred but not reported reserves are the most important reserves in non-life insurance. These reserves allow to estimate current and future obligations of the insurers and minimize the danger of insolvency. In Poland these reserves are calculated mainly by deterministic methods. In this article an attempt has been taken to assess several popular deterministic methods of IBNR reserve evaluation.
