Summary/Abstract: The article presents the concept of business interruption insurance in risk management. The first part of the paper focuses on business interruption risk and its reducion methods in business activity. The last part brings up theoretical and empirical approach to the application of business interruption insurance in risk management and points at outlooks of its growth on the Polish market in the next few years.
