Property insurance companies adaptation process to reduce the impact of greenhouse effect in Poland

Summary/Abstract: From the end of the XXth century there is a growing interest in climate change caused by greenhouse gas emission. The consequences of this process affect Poland as well. The issue of climate change is discussed by international organizations as one of the most important problems in recent years. Climate change will cause an increase in natural random events activity for which the insurer is liable. In this article we consider directions of adaptation measures used by insurance companies to eliminate negative effects of global warming. We also point to the need for a precise calculation of contribution rate and insurance technical reserves.
