Summary/Abstract: The formation of capital accumulation, which is one of the main determinants of economic growth, is regarded as an important economic problem in terms of developing countries. Especially in developing countries where savings are not at the desired level, capital accumulation does not increase either. For this reason, developing countries are engaged in external borrowing in order to increase their capital accumulation due to insufficient savings. In this study we aimed to determine the relationship between the level of external debt and economic growth in Turkey during the quarter period of (2000:1-2016:3). We have found that the external debt effects economic growth negatively by using threshold regression analysis.
