New Products in the Market for Resort Tourism

Summary/Abstract: The fashion for healthy lifestyle and ageing of the society cause the growth of importance of health tourism which includes spa tourism. Spa tourism may substantially support tourism development, ensuring a dynamic development of resort localities. The future of many Polish resorts in in the departure from the exclusively medical and procedural profile of therapy and in introduction of new services. An aim of the study was to present the new products of spa tourism, being introduced in the resort Świnoujście S.A., as well as to indicate what impact they have on the changing structure of spa tourists. The surveys showed that commercial spa clients, fully financing their stay, who visited the facilities of the resort Świnoujście S.A in 2011-2013, accounted for almost 23% of spa tourists. They were mostly Poles (more than 75%), representing mainly the following provinces: Lubuskie, Wielkopolskie, Dolnośląskie and Śląskie, using primarily the packages for the senior and the cardiologic ones, lasting 7 and 14 days.
