Summary/Abstract: In this article Enes Karic discusses the issues posed, both on theoretical and practical level, in literature regarding Islam and Muslims in today's Europe. Karic holds that it is necessary to view Islam and Europe in a perspective: both Islam and Europe together. He does not advocate perspective that would face Islam with Europe in a mutually exclusive or confronting way. Karic offers interpretation of Islam as an inclusive and live religious, cultural and civilizational phenomenon. At the same time, Karic views Europe as an open continent which should not view Islam as a new religion.
