Summary/Abstract: The Skyth/Saka, who dominated all over Eurasia in the 1st millennium B.C., were the first known Turks. It seems, they were called in accordance with the moon cult, to which they belonged. Today's two Turkic people, the Sakha (Yakut) and Sagay, keeping still the same ethnonym, keep also the same cult, and use the word Sakh in the meaning "God".
