Summary/Abstract: The schools, in their everyday activities, place great emphasis on the educational and the ideological character of instruction. Those components are contained in every subject, from physical education through mathematics and Bosnian language class subject. Nevertheless, we need to recognize that history, both as a science and a subject, holds a special place in the instruction process both in terms of accomplishment of the educational tasks and the ideological character of the instruction as a whole.The primary task of the history teacher is to teach the students how to understand and completely adopt the contents of the historical matter presented. The teacher also helps them recognize the paths and means used in the historical past, which may aid in resolving of the ongoing tasks of the present day. It needs to be emphasized that there are no boundaries between educational goals and goals of the upbringing.
